Lighting Arizona Purple

Date:
Tuesday, October 2, 2018 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Meeting/Event Details:

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 2nd, Doug Ducey will light the State Capitol purple as a symbol of Arizona's dedication to end domestic violence.

Please join us for this annual event to bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence; It can stop.

“This is an issue that affects all ages, races, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds and education levels. I encourage Arizonans to stand with me as we send the unwavering message that domestic violence can stop.”

- Governor Doug Ducey

You can also join the statewide campaign by purchasing a purple lightbulb from any Home Depot location across Arizona and taking a picture of your home, business, or place of worship lit purple and posting the image to social media using #LightingAzPurlpe. A percentage of all purchases will go to support domestic violence prevention programs and awareness messaging.
