The Volunteer Generation Fund, authorized by the Corporation of National and Community Service (CNCS) and administered by the Arizona Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism, focuses on best volunteer management practices that increase both volunteer recruitment and retention. Each year, approximately $130,000 is used to expand the Arizona Service Enterprise Initiative (SEI).
In partnership with Points of Light, the Commission engages a variety of community organizations to serve as Service Enterprise Initiative hub partners to deliver the training and certification process across the state. In the first two years, the Commission has partnered with four community organizations to deliver the SEI training and certification program to more than 80 organizations statewide and continues to certify organizations as those organizations demonstrate their increased capacity to leverage volunteers to increase operational efficiency and greater social impact.
