Meet Our Director


  

Tonya Hamilton was appointed the Director and Tribal Liasion of the Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) in January 2023.

Before Ms. Hamilton’s appointment, she served 30 years working for the State of Arizona and its citizens at the Pima County Juvenile Court Center, the Arizona Supreme Court, and the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry. 

Director Hamilton has worked for the last 17 years in various roles at the GOYFF, such as Deputy Director, Substance Abuse Prevention Manager, and Project Director for several grant awards. Director Hamilton currently serves as an ex officio member of the Arizona Commission of African American Affairs, co-chair of the Community and Social Organizations Committee of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, a member of the Governor’s's Council to Combat Human Trafficking in Arizona, the Arizona Substance Abuse Partnership, the Governor's Council on Child Safety and Family Empowerment, and has participated on the Governor's Veterans Policy Academy Team. Ms. Hamiliton was recently inducted as a 2024-2026 Luke Air Force Base Honorary Commander.

A native Phoenician, Hamilton is a proud mother of two adult children, a volunteer with Maryvale High School, and a member of the Arizona West Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
