The Governor’s Commission to Prevent Intimate Partner and Gender-Based Violence is authorized under Executive Order 2023-22 to develop legislative and policy recommendations around expanding prevention initiatives, coordinating services for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and ensuring all Arizonans are free from violence. Members of the Commission represent a wide variety of disciplines, regions, and cultural perspectives. The Commission seeks to unite and enhance statewide efforts to prevent and end domestic and sexual violence. Commissioners advise the Commission Chair and staff on critical issues across the state and apply their expertise to the issues.
This Commission can create workgroups necessary to further facilitate what is outlined in the body’s Executive Order. Each workgroup comprises members, including issue-area experts and/or community stakeholders. The Commission further develops its work through the following:
