PHOENIX — The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) has awarded approximately $5.9 million in grant funding to 16 organizations throughout Arizona. These organizations will implement best practices that address workforce needs while enhancing collaboration among local, regional, and statewide entities that support this work. Funding will support programs in Arizona's urban, rural, and tribal communities that serve the following target populations: currently and formerly incarcerated individuals; individuals involved or previously involved with the foster care system; disconnected youth; veterans; high school students preparing for college or a career; individuals unemployed and underemployed; individuals with disabilities; and individuals who have experienced trauma.
“Ensuring our citizens have the opportunity to receive the education or training needed for their long-term prosperity is a top priority for Arizona,” said Governor Katie Hobbs. “The funding allocated by our Office of Youth, Faith and Family will provide more Arizonans access to develop the skills necessary for a good-paying job. These efforts are critical to creating an Arizona for everyone while growing our state’s economy through a healthier, more dependable workforce.”
“The Governor and I are committed to transforming how Arizona delivers much-needed workforce development programs to Arizonans,” said GOYFF Cabinet Executive Officer (CEO) Tonya Hamilton. “I look forward to seeing the impact of these dollars on the lives of citizens across the State as we continue to expand opportunities for thriving futures.”
