About the Arizona Parents Commission on Drug Education and Prevention Grant Program

The monies awarded under this RFGA are State of Arizona funds. Per A.R.S. §13-901.02, the Arizona Parents Commission on Drug Education and Prevention—commonly referred to as the Parents Commission—receives 50% of the Drug Treatment and Education Fund comprised of tax revenues: 7% from spirituous liquor and 18% from vinous and malt beverages. As outlined in A.R.S. §41-1604.17, the Parents Commission uses this funding to support programs in Arizona that encourage parental involvement and increase awareness about the serious risks and public health problems related to the abuse of alcohol and controlled substances.
