PHOENIX — The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) has awarded approximately $3.4 million in grant funding to 16 Arizona programs to engage AmeriCorps members in addressing critical community needs. Each year, AmeriCorps members significantly impact communities across Arizona. During the past year, over 26,000 children and youth received much needed educational and social support; more than 330 individuals received job training and placement services; 1,200 Arizonans received independent living support; and over 1,000 veterans, active duty military, and their families were supported by AmeriCorps members.
AmeriCorps grant funding will be used to assist programs in Arizona's urban, rural, and tribal communities to build capacity to deliver a variety of proposed grant interventions; from tutoring/mentoring, to helping individuals secure employment, to implementing wildfire mitigation strategies.
