Parents Commission on Drug Education & Prevention

Through the Drug Treatment and Education Fund, established by A.R.S. §13-901.02, GOYFF oversees programming that increase and enhance parental involvement, and increase education about the serious risks and public health problems caused by the abuse of alcohol and controlled substances.

Partnerships for Success

With the implementation of the five-step Strategic Prevention Framework from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), GOYFF has partnered with organizations across the state to provide trauma informed and culturally competent substance abuse prevention programming  that aim to decrease marijuana and underage drinking misuse and abuse by current or former foster youth ages 9-20 and their caregivers.

State Opioid Response (SOR)

The overarching goal of the Arizona State Opioid Response (SOR) project is to increase access to Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment, coordinated and integrated care, recovery support services and prevention activities to reduce the prevalence of OUD and opioid-related overdose deaths

Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG)

Through the Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG), provided by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), selected schools are able to develop and implement evidence based drug prevention programs; screening and assessment of behavioral health and substance abuse; after school opportunities for more healthy youth engagement; and, annual back to school night drug education for families and faculty.
