The Arizona Juvenile Justice Commission (AJJC) is the supervisory entity responsible for the state’s compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act and serves as the State Council for Interstate Juvenile Supervision as required by ARS § 8-361. Authorized under Executive Order 2020-06, AJJC members work to develop effective initiatives that reduce juvenile delinquency and promote public safety.

This Commission is able to create workgroups necessary to further facilitate what is outlined in the body's Executive Order. Each workgroup is comprised of members which include: issue-area experts, and/or community stakeholders. The Commission further develops its work through the following:
- Grants Workgroup
- The Grants Workgroup assists with the pass-through of the Title II Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Formula Grant funds that are overseen by the Commission. Members of this Workgroup help develop and review the funding solicitation for the Request for Grant Applications (RFGA), evaluate and/or recruit evaluators to review and score program proposals, and inform the commission on progress and activities of current funded grantees.
- Racial and Ethnic Disparities (R/ED) Workgroup
- The Racial and Ethnic Disparities (R/ED) Workgroup oversees the state’s efforts for reducing disparities in the juvenile justice system and report these efforts to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) using the 3-Stage reduction model (identification, development of an action plan, and an outcome-based evaluation).
